The Eagle Mountain Ranch adventure and exploration allows the entire family to participate together in meaningful and memorable activities that most likely they wouldn’t have the opportunity to otherwise experience.
Ranch activities they will enjoy include horseback riding, hayrides, nature rides, a petting zoo, horse shows and cattle roundups, deer hunting in the fall and many other activities in a warm, friendly and relaxed country environment.
Horses play a major role in our programs at Eagle Mountain Ranch as the unique synergy of horses and the human spirit provide a therapeutic and transformational experience for our special needs children.
Additional outdoor activities involving local attractions include trips to Spruce Knob, Seneca and Smoke Hole Caverns, Seneca Rocks, Cass Scenic Railroad, and many more, hoping to also generate economic support for the entire community.
Parents and family members can also experience the benefits of connecting with a community of others who share their daily experiences of family life with the love, joy and unique challenges of life with special needs children.
Professionally facilitated workshops will provide the opportunity to share with other families the resources, tips and strategies for making their households run more smoothly and coping with the endless energy required to make it through each day. Parents will also establish supporting relationships that will last far beyond the extraordinary memories created with their own family and the families of others in attendance.
The family experience will be enhanced by the warm, welcoming and loving team environment, which includes the energy of our youth and wisdom of our elderly volunteers from our local community.
You may ask, what you can do to help?
Shirley and I lost our own home and our business in January 2006 due to a fire.
We have just purchased a 36-acre tract of property, adjacent to the ranch, with an existing home that is perfect for providing housing for our special needs families.
The 3000 square foot lower level of the home needs remodeling to accommodate the needs of our families who stay on the ranch to participate in multi-day programs.
Outside Improvements planned for the next year include landscaping, a pavilion and a large pond, which will provide additional recreational activities for our guests.
Resources needed to make our ranch improvement goals a reality are building materials, labor, equipment, and furniture. We are also always in need of additional tack and supplies for our resident horses and animals.
As always, revenue to develop and grow as we take on the challenge to meet the children’s dreams and desires is always in demand. We need your help to improve this wonderful ranch for these children and their families to come and visit. Any help is greatly appreciated and a visit from you is welcome at any time. We want you to see and feel the excitement we have for this heart-warming adventure.
